Here's an interesting story from Newsweek of how Poland's agricultural weakness (millions of small farms now having to compete with the subsidised might of the older members of the European Union) could be turned into a source of strength. Turns out they are mainly organic.
Meanwhile the fat cats roll on according to a report in TwinCities.com about the gravy train in the US (the only one that is always on time). Several members of Congress, it claims, voted themselves farm subsidies as much as 119 times larger than what the typical farmer receives. Nice work if you can get it.
