Hilary Burrage thinks that keeping the extra hour of daylight during the winter will improve the quality of life. She has also come across a London builder, William Willett who a hundred years ago decided to cost 'Daylight Saving' hours in terms of
health, happiness and energy. She adds: "Judging from the msn and google search engine
referrals on this, many of us would like to see the same thing happen again"
You can't keep a good idea down.
Thanks for the encouragement! Too right it looks like a good idea - the BBC website this morning reports that the Local Government Association agrees with us too ("Clock change 'would save lives'"). They want a three-year experiment with moving to double summer time, and keeping BST instead of Winter (Greenwich Mean) Time.
It can't come a minute (hour) too soon for me, but if you look back over my blogs throughout last year (four to date on the topic of 'clocks back and forward') you'll see there are still lots of people who disagree or don't follow the stats - and the reasons for their concerns will have to be addressed of course. But it has to be done.
Good luck, let's all go together for this change!
Hilary
